The England - Peak District - Kinder Scout's Heart Of Darkness - Mini Venture

Summary

A two day circular route that starts at Hayfield and climbs to the western edge of the Kinder Scout plateau. Follows the edge path to the dramatic Kinder Downfall. Carries out an exploration of the vast central area of the plateau before heading towards its easternmost tip. Returns westwards along the northern edge of the plateau. Amazing views throughout this extended edge walk. Leaves the plateau and traverses Mill Hill and Burnt Hill before following a pretty path back to Hayfield. A Mini Venture that explores all sides (and centre) of Kinder Scout.

Hayfield To (Above) Blackden Moor 

Starts from Hayfield and climbs to the Kinder Scout plateau. Follows the western edge to the dramatic Kinder Downfall. Explores the  vast central area of the plateau visiting Kinder Gates and Crowden Head. Takes the plateau's southern edge path to the eastern tip. Returns westwards using the plateau's northern edge path including a visit to Madwoman's Stones. Plateau wildcamp above Blackden Moor.

(Above) Blackden Moor To Hayfield

From a wildcamp on the northern side of the Kinder Scout plateau, follows its stunning edge path before visiting its north western trig point. Follows the Pennine Way to Mill Hill and a flagstone plod then takes you to the aircraft wreckage of Liberator B-24J 42-52003. Continue the flagstonefest over Burnt Hill to the A624. A pretty path then takes you up on to Middle Moor before you drop down to the finish at Hayfield.
